review 1: It was really cute and I really liked the issues that were brought up in the book. The ending was fantastic but there were times when I really wanted to yell at Aurora because he answer was so obvious. It outlines issues like girls adherence to appearance and feminism and sexism issues although these come in small doses throughout the book. I also liked how Aurora wants to keep her first kiss for her prince and that it was inspired by Sleeping Beauty because the Princess is also called Aurora. I loved how all the characters each had a detailed personality and background and weren't just blurs in the background but had their own stories circulating the main plot, this created a more realistic novel where you could really imagine what people were feeling and seeing as if you... more were there. The way the characters cooperate with each other and share stories and relationships also goes to show the detail the author has gone into to make sure that the story has its full affect, not only on the main characters but the characters around them. If your looking for an adorable book about love and relationships this one fits.
review 2: My first thought was... Well, I can't really recall my first thought. I was too engrossed in reading. What I can say, though, is that this book goes exactly where you want it to go. I'm so glad that some authors can write a single book, and understand that it's ok for a book to just... well... end perfectly. I was extremely satisfied with the wrapping up of this one, especially how *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* the end sentence totally contradicts the title of the book! I have to admit, though, I was cringing a lot during the guts of the book, like, 'YOU STUPID GIRL WHY CAN'T YOU SEE OUT OF YOUR HEARTLESS LITTLE EYES YOU HORRIBLE PERSON!' But I'm glad to say that all was forgiven in the end... definitely. I could finally relax (I had been sub-consciously tensing up during the cringy parts of the book). And I found myself falling in love with Hayden Paris's personality... anyways, I think you all have to agree that when you start falling for a fictional character (sob) you are not only losing your mind, like a true book worm, but it is also a sign of incredible writing skills on the author's behalf. That's why I recommend this stunner of a book for 12-18. I'm not saying that people out of that age limit couldn't read it; it's just that teens would 'get' it more, and therefore enjoy it more. Thanks for your time! P.s I have not read 'How to Convince a Boy To Kiss You', yet, because I don't want the perfect ending to be destroyed by a sequel. And there I am, judging a book by it's cover. Ha. Ha ha. less
