review 1: I believe in Destiny....The writing in this book was far and away superior to so many I have read lately. It was like the author took my hand and led me along the storyline she expertly paved through heartache, friendship, love, & regret. Laura and Brooks agree that because of circumstances beyond his control they can only be friends. They agree to this in spite of their natural rapport, rapidly building friendship, and a love that has no destiny even as it awakens their hearts and souls like neither had ever before experienced. I became personally invested in the characters and fell in love just like it was my first time. As their paths crossed again and again, and their circumstances seemed certain to lead to heartbreak, I held out hope that there could be a destiny that... more favored them. I hoped for Laura and Brooks even as I smiled, laughed and cried (& cried some more). In the end, well since it's the title of the book I guess it's safe to disclose, that they find that destiny is ever changing. Get this book and enjoy the journey on which it takes you! You will not regret a moment of it!
review 2: First, I guess I will start by asking the obvious question, what is up with the cover? I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but this cover made me a little upset. Primarily because the woman on the cover looked so mean - I felt like she didn't want me to read the story...very un appealing. The second thing that frustrated me was the author's grammatical errors. It became hard at some points to pay attention to the words when they didn't make complete sense. The third thing that got me a little annoyed was the unrealistic blooming relationship between the two main characters. It happened so quickly, without much substantial dialogue. The final thing that really bothered me about this story was the character's maturity levels. I honestly thought this story was told from the POV of a couple of 18 to 22 year olds...only to find out that the male character was 30. I appreciate the story and the meaning behind it, but I seem to be one of the few people who found a lot of flaws with it, so I will chalk it up to this story just not meeting my expectations. It seems like a lot of people liked it, so I guess I am just hard to please. I did give it three stars (which I feel was generous), but it had some redeemable qualities. This included the sincerity of the characters needing eachother and the prevalence of love conquering all. The grandmother was also a cute character. less
