review 1: I was really looking forward to reading about Estela because I really loved her in Daisy's story. Her character development was fairly good, obviously she quite childish at times and considering that this is the first book, she'll mature more as the series progresses but still, some of her antics can get a little too much at times. I read this quite a while ago now but one thing that I recall is that I did think it was a bit too long in length and that some scenes seemed to repeat a bit. However, this story was funny, Moo and Estela can really make you bust a gut laughing, I'm keen to see what happens next.
review 2: I absolutely loved this book! I fell in love with the characters--well, most of the characters. One of them made me sick to my stomach (those of
... more you who have read it know who I am talking about). Estela is a beautiful, yet flawed, character (read: human), and I love how the author worked a tight-nit/traditional Latino family into the story. I grew up in along the U.S.-Mexico border and some scenes had me missing home. I look forward to the next book, and will purchase it as soon as it is available (a not so subtle hint to the author). less

I probably would've enjoyed this book more if the protagonist wasn't so wimpy.
