review 1: 9/20 - I have once again raided the library .25 cent sale for cheesy romance fluff. Brace yourselves, bad reviews are coming. 9/24 - I was surprised at not hating this book. Granted it's full of genre tropes (virgin bride, highland rogue, arranged marriage, blah blah blah) and the plot is extremely formulaic, BUT the writer isn't a horrible writer. I've read better stories with much worse writing. I know it takes a lot of work to think of an original story, and plotting a tried and true genre romance is much easier, but I feel like if Medeiros were to use her powers for good and not crap we might get something amazing.
review 2: I just love reading these. especially when I get to listen to the audiobook. I get to hear how they story actually played out. all the... more words flowed so very nicely and the story it self was very mysterious the whole who done it vibe, thrown into that whole era of courting and you can't show anything kind of ankle or people go crazy. I recommend this book to any one who loves romance with a little rraaawwwwrrr to it. ^_^ less
