“Something happened between us that night, something shifted, and even though no words were exchanged, we both knew things would never be the same.”

The only thing hotter than the weather South of the Mason Dixon line are the boys. Worn, faded blue jeans, slow Southern drawls, and those naughty moments in the back of pickup trucks a girl never forgets.

Welcome to the world of the Sutton boys.

Five brothers who fight, party, drink a little too much, but more importantly, they love their momma. Nothing can tear them apart… until the girl next door wins more than one of their hearts.

“Many girls had tried to change me, but I knew that only Dixie was the girl I’d change for. The only girl I’d ever need.”

As we discussed in my last review for Like a Memory, I love Abbi Glines. Her books are basically the epitome of New Adult Romance and every time I pick up something she wrote I enjoy it immensely. This book guys, is just wow. This book is probably one of my favorites of hers. It was like watching a Southern teen soap opera, like 90210 but sexier, and I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to spend every second of the day reading this book and I could feel the tension in the air around me as I read. It was intense and I was obsessed.

I was constantly waiting for a fight to break out or some further piece of information to drive them all apart again. It was classic Abbi, and I was hooked! If you’re not into the whole drama to the max, love triangle, perfect girl and damaged boy type of writing then this book isn’t for you. I, however, can’t get enough of these books and willingly and happily devour each one I can get my hands on.

I loved all the characters in this book as well. I thought the Sutton brothers were realistic, funny, and sexy as hell. I’m sure this is what she was going for, and she nailed it! There were parts that literally had me laughing out loud and other parts that had me swooning, needless to say I was obsessed. I didn’t hate Dixie either, in fact, I really liked her. I could understand, to an extent, what she was feeling and going through. I think we can all understand what it’s like to be young and in love, but to have so much against you is scary. Speaking of what’s against them, while I thought the plot was a little out there, I didn’t think it was completely unrealistic. It was crazy, but not so crazy that it was far fetched.

I found the writing in this one to be so much better than her previous books I read. The sentences and dialogue in this book just flowed so much more than her other books and was more believable overall. It was like Abbi really took her time with this one, and not only could I tell by reading it but I appreciated it too. I wouldn’t mind waiting a little longer for her books if they were all written like this, and I saw a lot of agreement in the reviews I read for her recent books. Of course, there were a few grammatical errors but it was nothing compared to what I saw in Like a Memory

Overall this was a wonderful book, it had all the elements of a classic Abbi read and was a much cleaner piece of writing than I’ve seen from her recently. Even before I finished this I was scouring Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, and Abbi’s website for any shred of information regarding the next book in this series and didn’t find a thing. However, in the information I read it appears this is a series and there will be another book, I just don’t have any further information. I know she had a few of these published under a pen name, but I don’t know a lot about those editions of this story. As I mentioned above, I wouldn’t mind waiting for the second book as long as it’s as well written as the first, so fingers crossed on this one!

If anyone has any information about a second book please please please let me know! I’m dying to find out more about the Sutton brothers! I will be updating my Twitter and Instagram with information when I find out more, so follow me there and stay tuned!
