review 1: Riversong is the type of book that you can completely get lost in…. I felt completely transported to the small, rural town that Lee once called home and returned to in her time of need. While I didn't love Lee (probably because she kept her feelings so bottled up as a form of self protection) I completely understood her and related to her. From the first glimmer into her early childhood I was rooting for her to find the peace and happiness she deserved. The supporting characters were amazing and I am so thankful that Tess Thompson wrote future books featuring them (I purchased this book as part of the Trilogy collection). My favorite supporting character however was the town. I think it is amazing how the town took on a life of its own...
review 2: I read
... more RiverSong in exchange for honest review for Reading Addiction Blog Tours. The book is wonderful. I loved the beginning scenes where Lee is journaling her worries, which reminded me of me sometimes. I journal thoughts in a few tablets, plus google drive, and the kindle.Lee had a mother, who was a drunk. Lee was soon starting college. The book starts in 1998 (same year I graduated high school) and then fast forwards to 1996 in Chapter 1. Her husband is dead and he owed a lot of money to the wrong people.Anyway, the book was a good read. The scenes moved at the right pace, nothing too fast, nothing too slow. The book was well-written and had me hooked from the beginning. from living with her mother to the senior skip day to how her husband died. She is also pregnant, which adds another dimension to the book. less
