review 1: Three and a half stars. Rounded up to four stars because it made me laugh after a long day. Absolutely adorable. This book is about an interior designer (with a personality to match) who runs into (literally) a butch construction worker while they're both buying trucks for their work.Mike, as narrator is TOO CUTE FOR WORDS with a funny way of telling the story. FUN-NY.I don't like to spoil so I don't usually mention a lot of plot things in reviews, but the baby plot was very poignant and helped to flesh out the two men's tender sides. There was also some "emotion" in the slow build up to the relationship, of the "he doesn't feel about me like I feel about him" variety. It was a little bit . . . overdramatic, but that actually suited the character.Very sweet slow burn and G... moreFY.And now I want pumpkin cheesecake . . .
review 2: As many others pointed out, I loved the cover and the first few chapters of the book. Mike's lively, engaging voice was captivating and I loved his sarcastic, sly humor ... until it wasn't funny anymore, and this happened the instant a new love interest appeared.IMO, the two are way better off as friends. It was too abrupt a reversal from oblivious friend to "I want to be your lover" for Joe. The sex scenes were littered with terms like "love canal" and "hot male milk" and "Mount Manhood," etc. It's absurd and so not-sexy and not-funny they were painful to read. From that moment, the tale skitters off to a conclusion like maybe if the pace is fast readers won't know how bad it is.Joe's family barely blinks a collective eye when he suddenly "turns" gay and the little blurb at the end about Brandon's fate was in very poor taste.Over all, I'm left with a partial story that I can continue to enjoy and chuckle over provided I stop reading around page 75. It's too bad, really, because it started off so wonderfully. It's rare to find an author who can pull off the gay and m/m stereotypes with the right balance of tongue-in-cheek humor. less

This started out so well and then it just turned into one never ending cliche.
