review 1: I received this one as an advanced reader's copy from William Morrow. I was intrigued by the premise of guessing Emily's secret. I thought it would have something to do with being a twin and I won't give it away, but I'll say that I never guessed correctly! I did like the book and I'll watch for other ones by this author. It's fun reading it before everyone else and I sounds like this one is being highly promoted.

Emily has a beautiful son, a baby on the way, a cottage home and a husband who loves her, Yet in the first chapters of the book, we witness her leaving home and changing her identity to Cat,... more abandoning all that she loved. Why? That is the question that lingers almost to the end of the book. The rest of the book explores in flashback form, Emily's birth, childhood, courtship, wedding, crazy family and bizarre twin, alternating with chapters during which we see the new life of Cat unfold. Cat finds a place, makes friends, gets a job, starts using cocaine and then a very important anniversary rolls around. This day is a game changer in so many different ways. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. Seskis has made Emily/Cat a character who is easy to like. I was astonished at the way she re-invented herself, but never questioned the fact that she needed to do so. The other characters are less fully drawn, and most exist in near shadow around Emily/Cat, but that seems to make our heroine all the more compelling. What moment will change your life?
