review 1: This was an enjoyable book. Jane a 14 year old who is trying to find herself gets a job babysitting Charley, a 5 year old boy who has a form of Autism. Meg her cousin who has a track record of not keeping a boyfriend for long is finally engaged to Brady. Bonnie, Jane' mother, is trying to deal with her mother, Elizabeth. Elizabeth has Alzheimer's and is now living in a nursing home. This book goes through the struggles of these three women. How each deals with what comes at them and how it draws them closer.
review 2: This was a fun YA read - a coming of age of a young girl who doesn't feel like she fits in, and she finds herself taking care of a young boy with an autism spectrum disorder, in parallel stories her mom is trying to care take for the aging grandmo... morether and a cousin who is trying to make sense of changes in her relationship with her fiancé. This would be a good book for a mom and daughter 12 + to discuss over summer vacation. less
