review 1: A very good novel about a closeted married man, whose rest stop rendezvous leads to arrest, then probation and psychiatric counseling. He finds himself cast out from his marriage, job, and home. Now living with his mother, he struggles to understand himself and his past and make a new life for himself. From pathos to comedy and back again. I laughed; I rolled my eyes; I cringed; I wanted to shake that guy; I laughed again.
review 2: This is my first forray into gay fictions/literature, and I can honestly say that I was not prepared for the graphic nature of this noevel. I enjoyed the author's highly personal and authentic voice, but the details in many passages took away from the experience of learning what it means to be gay (and unfairly judged) from his
... moreperspective. Lovely ending, though, I thought that made such a nice visual. less

Hard to follow and kind of disjointed. It was difficult to get into and to finish.

A dark and sad novel but ultimately hopeful.
