review 1: This sort of jumped all over the place & didn't feel very well organized. I came away from this feeling bummed out more than anything since it seems to state over & over that there is just no way to know for sure that the olive oil you are consuming (even if it's the spendy stuff) is real and is actually Extra Virgin. Now I just wonder if when I buy more expensive olive oil, is the margin the crooks making on this higher or is it real? Great.
review 2: In the sea of food-focused "history" books, it's not the best or worst. The book does seem a tad disorganized and repetitive, with an underwhelming conclusion.
