review 1: First impression: the title has too many brackets, doesn’t look like a title. I’ll bet this book doesn’t pop up on Amazon or search engines. Not the smartest choice.I applaud women who venture into the world of BDSM and write about it, either as a real lifestyle guide or as fiction. E.L. James got her phenomenal success by writing about it as a fantasy. Her trilogy was not meant as an authentic guide, but enjoyable as fiction from a woman’s fantasy point of view. Perhaps I’ll write about her book later.But this one didn’t work as fiction. This was a classic case of the author trying to “preach” or type an instructional manual (or tutorial) with a story. It failed as a story.Like I said, it’s great that more people want to explore the lifestyle and write a... morebout the subject matter, but writing fiction is a craft and art. Ms. Kinzer should have just tried to type out the lecture point by point, it would have been more readable and true to form.2 out of 5 stars in my book.
review 2: Novella/Short Story Ratings Book ♥♥ 2 Stars Author ♥♥ 2 starsTotal ♥♥ 2 starsI truly felt like I was reading an encyclopedia on BDSM. This book gave a lot of incite to the practices. The problem was I didn't really get it. It was okay but, nothing exciting. I felt like the book did a lot of telling instead of showing but, it didn't excite me. I liked the characters a lot but, one thing is I think the story did not flow as well as other short BDSM novellas that I have read in the past. 2 Stars. less
