review 1: So I read this Harlequin Teen romance after having it recommended to me upon finishing Run to You by Clara Kensie. It was fairly by the books yet I enjoyed it more than I would've expected. It sort of reminded me of Where She Went by Gayle Forman, which I liked a bit better even though I still haven't read the preceding book If I Stay by Gayle Forman. The idea of successful teen rock stars is a good one to explore in a story.
review 2: I'll start off by stating that I am a huge Jane Austen fan and the fact that this is a spin on my favorite of her works, Persuasion, is what really drew me to this title. Yes the stories overall are similar, but as you are reading it is easy to forget that the author is following the plot of another. I personally think that is a
... more good thing, if it were a strict adaptation there would be little point in reading it when I could just go to the original. I liked the characters, especially Claire. Although she isn't perfect we get that inner dialog that makes me really want to give her a hug and its so much easier to see events from her perspective, she has spunk which I suspect Anne Eliot possessed, but never displayed. I recently read Audrey, Wait! which very interestingly had a similar plot about a boy writing a breakup song and becoming famous. His ex has to deal with the notoriety, which Claire doesn't really in this work. I enjoyed the music aspect too, though I wish the book came with a soundtrack (wishful thinking on my part). Overall I would recommend this to adults who enjoy Austen and teen lit., teens who enjoy Austen and teen girls who have never heard of Austen (I think I'd have a hard time pitching it to the guys). Its a quick read but has enough emotional punch to not make it a bubblegum teen book so I think adults would be able to enjoy it too. less

I liked it but at parts it seemed a little repetitive.

First time I've seen Paramore mentioned in a book.
