Tyler's Trouble Trilogy
review 1: Poor Tyler Chambers, if it weren't for bad luck, he'd truly have no luck at all. A young Navy man hell bent on enjoying his next assignment, Tyler is tossed into a different assignment than he wanted, puts up with officers who blame him for things that go wrong, meets up with the wrong women, then develops a "thing" for his boss...Naval officer Darcy Novak. In this brilliant story, Travis Casey has not only given us love and romance from a male viewpoint, but he has given us a peek into how a man really thinks, feels, and acts. This novel has many unexpected turns, it has humor and it has romance that truly tugs at your heart.Even though Forbidden Trouble is the 3rd book in a series, it reads as a stand alone. I highly recommend this book...it WILL make you s... moremile.
review 2: **Book given by the author in exchange for an honest review**I hadn't read the previous books of this series, but I could understand it just fine as a stand alone.I have to say, this wasn't my kind of book. Although it was very funny at times (specially Billy Earl's character) and romantic, the best thing about this book was also the thing that made it difficult for me to find myself hooked by the story.Let me explain: I had just read a book from a female author, written in a male's POV (and I loved it), when I got an email from Travis asking me if I wanted to read his book, since it was also from a guy's POV, but with the very important distinction of the author ALSO being a guy. So I accepted immediatly and super excited about it.The thing is, the main character here, Tyler, is a REAL guy. Meaning, there's a lot of talk about girls and sex and machinery and, even though I understand it, I didn't really get it all the time. So, the point being for me to see a guy's POV written by a male author, I have to say it was a success. If you ask me if I liked the story... I'll say is good, honestly, but maybe it wouldn't have been my first choice from the shelf. But that's PURELY a matter of taste, not of quality.Travis Casey is a really good writter, has a marked style and I can see why his books are loved so much. I believe if my boss could read in english, he would love it. I hope a spanish version is coming up soon, so I can buy it for him ;) less
