review 1: At first i wasn't so sure that i wanted to read this book; however Tymber's books have all been so well done that i decided to just go ahead and read it. I was so pleasantly surprised. It was nothing like what i expected from reading the blurb. I spent a great deal of time at the end with a box of kleenex, which might not seem like a good thing for a "romance" novel, but let me tell you this book was well worth it! I never write reviews but i felt that this book truly deserved one!

Death is the single most unifying and motivating factor that exists. I know that one day, I wil... morel die. So will every single person that I love. And that has to be, and is, my motivation to get through life, to be strong in the face of a million self-doubts, to say yes to the things that scare me shitless.By God, I shouldn't be confessing these things when reviewing a book full of cock milking and m-preg egg laying. But there it is. This book shouldn't work. But it does. It constantly breaks that cardinal writing rule of telling versus showing. It's repetitive, full of holes and shamelessly utilizes rote plot devices. And I can't fault the author. Inexplicably, she has wrought a fundamentally human experience in an alien world filled with human "pets." She took that most fundamental human fact -- that we all die -- and showed us how precious today is. That today's joy is spiced with the knowledge of death, that it would not hold its value without that truth, that life's joys and sorrows would be worthless in the face of immortality.Maybe I'm reviewing this book while still too raw from experiencing it, but let me tell you, it was worth it. So, you can take that for what it's worth. less
