review 1: 3.5 stars. This was a pleasant summer read. Jenny is about to get married and is looking for vintage tea cups for her wedding reception. She finds the perfect one with blue forget me knots on it but unfortunately two other women also have their eye on it. They compromise and buy it together agreeing to share it. That begins the friendship between Jenny, Maggie and Alison. The rest of the book deals with weddings, family angst, and relationships. It was a little heavy on the saccharine with no surprises. I enjoyed the storyline with Ruby and Derek. As dumb as it sounds, the thing that bothered me the most was the cover. It should have had the forget-me-not cups on the front as that was catalyst for the whole book.

... moretar reviews!Admittedly, I read this because my very thoughtful flatmate, knowing I collect vintage teacups, picked it up at the library for me and thought I'd enjoy it. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece but I did think I might enjoy it. Whoever edited this should be rethink their career; storylines which don't add up, not one fully developed character(and this is a 400+ page book!), pointless and illogical bits (e.g. Holly and her friend stealing the friend's mum's credit card, then being made to pay half back. Then being told her parents would pay half of that!) and cliches and more cliches. It was an easy read, but I didn't care for one character, and it was a shame that the more interesting bits (the older couple and the story of the teacups for example) weren't developed further. And what happened with Pete and the other woman? Such a shame, because I wanted to like it :( less
