review 1: I really can't rate this book, I couldn't make it through two chapters, it was just too much for me. The concepts and why i bought it was awesome, but it was just way to slow for me. I am giving it three stars because I didn't get through the book. I am not exactly what turned me away from the book, I just couldn't continue reading it. It was not my cup of tea. I won't give a one star because it just wasn't my type of book.
review 2: This book is not for the faint of heart. There are some, what I would consider, graphic descriptions and the main subject of the book is death or lack there of. That being said, this book did keep my interest and the end was a surprise and not what I was expecting. I enjoyed watching how each of the main characters changed over the... more course of the story. I liked how the different stories came together at the end and found the concept of death personified quite imaginative. I look forward to reading the next installment in this trilogy. less
