review 1: I LOVED this book! I would have rated it a 5 star but it took me about a quarter of the way through before I actually connected to the characters. I LOVED Hart! But then again, I love Duke's. This is my first VD book and look forward to her other historical romance's. Steamy and well written, I like that there was a hint of mystery behind both their lives, but Ms. Dahl wrote it so that we weren't left with the feeling like we were the only one's not knowing what was going on. I really don't like it when authors feel like they have to make it more mysterious than it is. Well done.
review 2: Emma is an orphaned girl with no more family who has turned to gambling, running with a fast crowd, lying, and not behaving as a lady should, but she'll do almost anything fo... morer her dream of getting away from society and to have her own home. Hart is a duke who sees through Emma's lies, even as he is attracted to her from the beginning. She gives her virginity to him, he discovers all of her untruths, and all their dreams come true. Great read!! less
