A Vintage Kitchen Mystery
review 1: I've been on a cozy mystery kick and I had high hopes for this one. However, I just couldn't get into the main character's passion for vintage kitchenware and I found the plot pacing to be uneven. In a few scenes, there was so much talking and description, I kept missing important details - like a character having a gun. Between being a little confusing, a more challenging read than I was looking, and just not feeling connected to the characters or the setting - this one just didn't hit the spot for me.
review 2: If you love a culinary cozy with a twist, this is one for you. Set in Queensville Michigan, Victoria Hamilton introduces us to Jaymie Leighton in her Vintage Kitchen series. Jaymie collects vintage kitchen equipment and starting her own vintage coo
... morekbook with recipes. But when she bids for a Hoosier cabinet in an estate sale, things take a turn for the worse. Someone's found dead at her home. And from there, she meets Detective Christian, who's a hot piece of eye candy, and reconnects with friend, Daniel Collins, who both have their eyes set on her. While Jaymie's tangled up in the mystery behind the Hoosier cabinet and its contents, it places her in a world of danger and intrigue. And people would "kill" for a valuable treasure. There's plenty to enjoy and root for in this new culinary series. less
