review 1: It was good. It was really good. It's interesting after having read all these vampire books to compare the mythology behind it. In this one, vampires are still allergic to sun- but they don't burst into flames- they just can't spend much time in it. They can't lie- an interesting plot device_ I never considered the use of making such a strong character and then giving them vulnerabilities. Also, they can read each other's minds- but wearing pure gold prevents that- ah makes me glad I have a gold necklace on- you know just in case random Virna Depaul vampires are wandering around San Antonio- I'll be safe. Hey, a girl can't be too-- ___ right? Lots of twists and turns to the mystery portion of the story- I liked that and the romance was HOT!!! It reminds me of the Anna Stro... moreng chronicles.
review 2: I had WAY more questions than answers to this book. It is the opening of a series so hopefully the next books will have more meat to them and will satisfy. There were strengths and weaknesses. Strengths were Ty and Anna synced early on and were able to rely on one another when necessary. They were totally hot from the very beginning and it worked. From dream sequences to their mental connection. Weakness a lot just did not make sense to me. For instance how is it possible that the FBI of all organizations had so much power over the vampires which are super human in speed and such? Also, the repetitiveness of the story line. Yes, they were FBI. Yes Belladonna is a shadow company of the FBI. Over and over and over again. If they are so fast how is it possible for mere humans to keep up with them? The list goes on. It was a good and steamy read and I am hoping the remainder help in answering the questions I currently have. less
