review 1: The best thing about this graphic novel, in my opinion, is that the artwork was done by a Savannah College of Art and Design graduate (HOLLA! That's my school, REPRESENT!), which is why I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars. The story was a bit hard to follow at times, and I feel like there was way too much left out and that it may be more beneficial to learn about Brian Epstein from a thick biographical novel. But if you're not reading this book in order to gain knowledge for an essay you may be writing for a school grade, then this book is wonderful to delve into simply to enjoy the beautiful illustrations and deep emotional messages of the time period involved with the main characters. It was a fresh gain of knowledge for this already Beatles obsessed manic, and I'm happy ... moreto have added it to my mental library.
review 2: I thought I was a Beatles fan but apparently not enough of one to know about Brain Epstein and what an incredible man he was.Seriously, that man is legendary and I hope this will bring him to more prominence than he already.Now enough gushing about him, and on to the story itself. As an outside observer who knows little to nothing about the main character and the events this book transpired, I was hooked from page one.The writing was beautiful and the art flowed so nicely and progressed wonderfully throughout. You can see and sense how the characters grew during the time the events of this story took place.I would recommend this to anyone who loves the Beatles and has an interest in the music industry. less
