review 1: I read Nate and Holly's story first, so I already had a taste of Maddie and Jake from that book, but I have to say, I preferred Nate's story better. This one was entertaining regardless. While I found the damsel in distress story somewhat interesting in the second book, I was annoyed to find it again in this one. I hope it's not a trend throughout the whole series. What I do like is that there's more going on in the story than just the internal conflicts of the main characters. It keeps it interesting. That said, Maddie's internal dialogue was absolutely maddening. It gave me whiplash how often she went back and forth on her relationship with Jake. There were no real logical trains of thought, just abrupt changes in attitude and rehashing of the same argum... moreents.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. Maddie is a sports reporter for The Post and Jake is one of the best players on the Patriots. Maddie and Jake both want a relationship, but Maddie must first come to terms with what is more important; her career or a relationship with Jake. It is a great book about finding oneself and coming to terms with what you want in life. When Jake finds out that Maddie is in danger, he will do anything to protect and save her. If you are looking for a book about a hot baseball star who loves with all his heart, this book is a must read. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see if Nate gets his HEA as well. less

Just ok. Strong characterization. Story dragged on at times. Quick read.

Mindless entertainment romance in the baseball world.

Closer to 2.5. A little too melodramatic for me.
