review 1: This book had great potential. In some ways, it lived up to the potential. The two main characters both had tragedies they were trying to overcome. They met, fell in insta-love, there was angst, and a happy ending.Where did it fall short? In my opinion, I'm not sure the fiancee was necessary. Kegan was sufficiently torn up over his cousin. Also, there were two paranormal instances at the end that I felt weren't very well set up throughout the story. I think those would have been much more powerful if we had seen hints of paranormal throughout the book. So, I guess my concerns are more about what the author didn't do. But, what the author wrote was crisp and clean and deftly pulled emotions from readers.
review 2: 2.5I have mixed feelings about this story. Whil... moree I liked the two MCs, I just couldn't connect with them, they both had tragic pasts, but that was all you were given, nothing more to really feel something for them. I was a little thrown by Kegan's sudden insta love for Dominic, for me it just was to sudden, especially since he was supposed to be flying to New Zealand with his fiancee and as soon as he see Dominic he is in love with him, that just did not work for me. The story was written well, but I think I was just expecting something different. less
