review 1: The Reluctant Countess by Wendy Vella was a funny and entertaining read. The author did regency romance with brooding hero and spunky heroine totally to a "T". Of course I am a sucker for handsome men with power and wealth. In this story, it is Patrick, Earl of Coulter, who meets the beautiful widowed Sophie, Countess of Monmouth. Patrick sees her and wants her for his very own. Sophie doesn't want any attention from the man, but what girl can resist sweet kisses that make her toes curl. There is also danger from Sophie's past that threaten her future. Can two people from different backgrounds come together in the name of love? I received this digital book from Net Galley for my honest review.
review 2: I was given the chance to read this book through NetGalley
... more. Let me start by saying I LOVED this book. This is the first time I have read anything by this author and will certainly look for her in the future. I loved the flow between Sophie and Patrick, the story between the beginning to their happy ever after at the end was perfect. With the side story between secondary characthers Amelia and Stephen only added to the story and made it go only too fast because I wanted to know what was going to happen. The suspense was an added benefit to keep the reader pulled in and I was able to finish this story in 6 hours even trying to finish up my Christmas shopping/cooking/running around. I hope you get the chance to pick up this book. less
