review 1: This graphic biography tries to separate the man from the myth that is Hunter S. Thompson. While much is known and loved about the myth, perhaps less is known about the man behind the myth.A well done look inside the real life of Thompson, not just the version that he and the rest of the world put as his public face, but the guy behind all that fear and loathing. Like "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead," this book takes a look at some of the moments between those most well known and documented points of Hunter's life.Excellent read with a touching foreword by Alan Rinzler.
review 2: A brief overview of Hunters life in graphic form. Although I thought it was a pretty good read it feels just a bit too short to really add anything new to the story of Thompso
... moren. But then again maybe that's not what to expect from this graphic novel either. You get the highlight of his life, short glimpses into what formed his life as a writer. Anything illustrated about his life is bound to be compared to Steadmans illustrations and at least this book doesn't try to mimic that style, instead going for a darker, more toned down style. The book starts of out with a personal, slightly sad foreword by Hunters editor Alan Rinzler. less

Interesting visually, but nearly all of it I was aware of from reading Thompson's books.

Worthless, your time would be better spent reading some HST than this

I'm impressed by this. It captured Thompson's essence completely
