review 1: I thought this book was horrible. However i have a feeling that it wasn't the author's fault though. Even though i didn't like the story i did like the author's style & grasp of the characters. Idk, i just felt like the author was given the task of writing a story about the back lash of the Destiny trilogy & was pretty limited on what he could do beyond that. To me the best part of the book was when Picard refused a promotion to Admiral, & we were shown that without doubt he feels like Captain of the starship Enterprise is his best destiny. I think this general aftermath story needed to be told but i think it could have been told in alot fewer pages, perhaps as a subplot in another novel with something alot more interesting going on. I have to say i think this is my leas... moret favorite ST book of all, but that said, i do look forward to reading more by this author because again i think this guy has alot of talent but he just had his hands tied pretty tight by the editor.
review 2: An interesting book that looks at the aftermath of the Borg attack that seriously damaged the Federation. I like that the books are now interconnected. I like that there's now the expanded universe of Star Trek. I appreciate that they didn't just brush off all the devastation and dead Federation members. In all I'll have to just say I liked it, but I have a lot of catching up to do. several books till I get to the Typhon Pact. less

While this isn't a re-read book for me, I still enjoyed it and was worth the time I put into it.

Kind of boring, but interesting enough to keep me interested in what was going on:)
