review 1: It's the holidays and I was in the mood for a good love story. This book fit the bill perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed it. For the first time in a long time I couldn't put a book down and finished it in two nights. I like a story with a little bit of grit, not a peaches and cream story. This book is very well written. You feel for both of the main characters and come to understand where they're coming from. My heart broke for both of them. I smiled, I laughed, I cried... it was perfect.... a great escape, I highly recommend.
review 2: When I read a book, I want to feel things. I want to get so wrapped up in the characters and the story that I know who they are and I feel what they feel. This story did it for me. Sparrow and Ian's story forced it's way inside me,... more wrapped itself around my heart and hasn't stopped squeezing.I can't stop FEELING this story. Sparrow Fisher (that name, really??) is easily likable. She is easy to relate to and didn't drive me insane - like many heroines do. She's beautiful, but doesn't quite realize it. She's quirky and funny, but not obnoxious. As a teen, she's naive and idealistic, throwing caution to the wind, but quickly learns that life is far from ideal.Then there's Ian Sterling. He's beautiful and talented and quite the bad boy. Sparrow draws something out of him that he never knew he could possess. We learn about Ian through his interactions with Sparrow and his countless love letters, but I'd love to know more. Their story is unforgettable. It's intense and passionate. It's beautiful and heart-breaking. It's both alluring and realistic. I couldn't get enough. less
