review 1: Will was an alpha in all aspects of his life, not just with his pack. Matt eventually figured out his role as an omega, and that he was important to the band. Overall, I enjoyed the book, the role Will played with the worlds of wolf, human, and werewolf.My quibbles were with length and geography. I felt that there was half-again as much book as neded to tell the story. As a resident of Minnesota, I haven't encountered elevation that I would consider a mountian. Though there is a lot of up and down on the North Shore.
review 2: Ended up skimming huge sections, the flow just seemed to be off. And it was almost a DNF, the mother stood by and let an entire pack be butchered? By the bully SHE put in place? I was looking forward to seeing her tossed out of the ... morepack and THEN she throws her loyalty behind the son she betrayed, yeah stopped reading there. Went back and finished but it wasn't enough for me. Did she get banished? I wanted to SEE that. Nice concept, really liked Connor but overall this was not for me. less
