review 1: This is hands down the best book of the Bluewater Bay series. It would have been in my top 10 m/m reads of the year if some parts of it were only a tinge more believable.Okay lets dissect Spencer sweet as he may be is the most confusing character.I'm unsure if he knows the concept of love for all his knowledge about it.He was in a 6 year relationship in which he was constantly cheated upon.Than he married the cheater & was cheated on again on his honeymoon. He remains married to the cheater for another 2 years & than the cheater leaves him after getting a woman pregnant.Take note Spencer did not leave this marriage. The cheater apparently maybe got bored with such a placid victim who did not protest against any of his one nightstands & decides to call it quits.I mean where is... more the challenge, the thrill of cheating when the victim is mute.Admittedly he was really in 'love' with the cheater. Now in 90 % of the books on the market once the main protagonist is cheated upon he screws anything on two legs & avoids all potential hint of a relationship like a plague. Not this placid individual. His marriage is not even cold & he dives straight into a fling with another man whore Nash aka'Hell on wheels' & after a few weeks DECIDES he is once again in love.So he experiences no jealousy,no lasting negative emotions as a result of an 8 year cycle of cheating. His only signs of a meltdown is when he bends a golf club like a pretzel while assaulting a straw man as a form of anger therapy. Now I for one feel this book is incomplete. This guy from that one breakdown scene alone requires some kind of major therapy. He is volcano waiting to happen & for him to suddenly have found love & able to fully trust another individual so quickly is not very realistic as pretty as the story ends.I did love the book though just not parts of Spence character.
review 2: This is a hard review to write because I really liked the book but the ending just seemed rushed. The beginning and middle of the book are so detailed and perfect that I was left feeling bereft at the end. I felt like I missed a lot of what was going on in their lives by fast forwarding six months. I really liked the scene in the epilogue and overall this was an amazing book I just felt like I missed out on a part of their relationship that while ordinary may have been pivotal.I am hoping there was a lot of ambiguity and swiftness to this ending because there will be another book showcasing these characters. I believe Spencer and Nash both still have a lot of self-discovery and healing to do personally that will help them shape and deepen their relationship. As is typical with Z. A. Maxfield the characterization was amazing and the story line kept you engaged from the very first page. This was a good book and I can’t wait to see if there is another book about these characters in the future. less

There wasn't anything wrong with this story but it just didn't hold my interest for some reason.
