review 1: This was a quick read about what felt like a really familiar group of characters. Which is good! But also I feel like nothing really grabbed me about this book because it felt so familiar. Um, but maybe if you don't run with queer people in Toronto you might not feel that way. Also I think I am not really in the mood to read about breakups right now so that might be part of my "meh" feelings about this book, too.
review 2: It's so refreshing to see Toronto described as Toronto. While all of the characters could have been better developed, there is enough there to empathize with. It is possible to relate to all of them, and some may find them loveable, riddled with flaws and endearing moments as they are. The relationships portrayed could use more detail, more n
... moreuance and more subtlety but that is a skill that Whittall may develop over time. The ending is happier than I expected or wanted, but some people like happy endings. less
