review 1: I like this book a lot and I find myself going back and rereading some chapters. I would say the first three chapters are the most moving. Each chapter has the main take away message which is further broken down by Greene. If you follow Robert Greene's other works you will find that the book is heavily influenced by his concepts and ideas and maybe less so by 50cent but I suppose that's how the writing world works when you try to use a celebrity's status to promote your work. There is an audio version on youtube in case you prefer that format.
review 2: There was a lot of redundant material about 50 Cent's past and upbringing. I didn't count how many times Robert Greene wrote that 50 Cent got dropped from Columbia Records, after he was shot, but I know that I d
... moreon't have enough fingers and toes to keep track. The book was a lot smaller than Robert Greene's other books (by about 100 pages), so there wasn't nearly as much historical anecdotes. The ending was convoluted, although I still understand the premise; don't let fear influence a life of conservatism or worry about death. Alas, I do enjoy the tidbits of knowledge. My favorites were of Ernest Hemingway, who needed a near death experience in order to effectively write his visceral novels, or Isaac Newton immersing himself in a 20 month long isolated study, during the plague. I was also interested in that the French call an orgasm "le petit mort" which translates into "little death", because of the comparison between the exhilaration incited from a near death experience and sex. I'm not sure if that is true, but it sounds cool. less
