review 1: After having finished it, I still don't know how I feel about this book. I really like the idea of two sisters suddenly inheriting an ice cream shop and having a go at it, but the whole book was just a little too chick lit-y for me (which I guess is fine if you're into chick lit). A lot of the imagery felt a little cliched to me, and I did NOT like the way both women seemed to jump from one relationship into the next like it's all no big deal. Especially the whole Matteo-storyline seemed very contrived to me - why does Anna have to have a boyfriend by the end of the book? Can't she just be a happy single for a few months? She did just break up with her boyfriend of two years that she was living with. I don't know. The book was OK to me, but I found those things to be reall... morey jarring.
review 2: A nice bit of holiday escapism. I know Brighton well so it was nice to read about places I see often too. It was a bit predictable in places such as the Anna/Jon/Matteo storyline but then I find that 'chick lit' often is. I did like Imogen though and without giving away the ending of the book I like the choice that she made. Overall a nice (I know I'm being repetitive) little book with a happy ending but not gonna change your life or anything dramatic like that and probably not one I'd read over and over again. less

If you want something easy to read, this book is it. Enjoyable, romantic and good for the beach.

Easy reading. Chick lit. Fine for something light to read.
