review 1: Underwhelm me is more like it. I wish someone had warned me there was a cliffhanger ending.THERE'S A CLIFFHANGER ENDING! I loathe cliffhangers with a vengeance. Donovan and Allison bang into each other, literally and from there its an endless round of lust and sex throughout the book oh did I mention insta-love? And don't get me wrong I love a sexed up book as much as the next person but it just fell into a lot of goo and mush or cheesy is the better word. Outside the sheets Allison through her past experience had inexplicable moments of juvenile jealous rages, she plumb wore me out. There was clearly much more going on with Claire, Donovan's deranged ex than Donovan was willing to admit but since I don't buy into cliffhangers I couldn't care less.
review 2: So... moremething about this book just didn't work for me. I think it is because I went into this book expecting it to be grounded. Not sure why but probably because of her profession. Instead, it was rather fanciful and the biggest case of instalove I've ever seen. The writing also didn't flow very well to me. Between the weird way their backstories were thrown in, to the Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde responses to certain triggers. I've read worse, no doubt, but it wasn't a book that I particularly enjoyed. less
