review 1: I wish I could give this negative stars. I have never seen a book fail to deliver on its promise like this one did. Everything about the description of this book makes you think it is a spooky, horror story - an updated Rosemary's Baby or sorts. It's not. It's really just the story of a girl coming to terms with being gay in the face of her strict religious upbringing and born-again Christian mom...and there's a crying baby in the background. SPOILER ALERT: nothing interesting happens.
review 2: I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get past the first few chapters of this book, because I was appalled by her calling her daughter "it" and "creature". I pushed through and started to feel sorry for Sarah and then couldn't put the book down until I finishe
... mored it. I do agree that some parts were kind of slow and the ending was shocking and horrific, but could have been a little longer. Overall, I thought the book was very thought provoking. It brought up some interesting questions, both with religion and orientation. less

A freebie book and you could tell. Was hoping for something better.
