Each year he sits outside his house waiting for someone to come by to be his friend. Fernie and her sister and Dad have moved in across the street. Fernie is not like other girls her age. She is totally into the creepy house across the street. She meets up with Gustav Gloom in his creepy mansion when her cat went missing. Fernie meets up with danger when the Beast and the People Taker try to capture her, along came Gustav to save Fernie from the monster.Reading this book was like watching one of Tim Burton's movies. If your a fan of Tim Burton then this book would be for you. It's a quirky novel that takes a different spin on the parano... morermal genre.
