review 1: Alex and Thea are teenage sisters whose mother married a wealthy man, changing their lives. Their alcoholic father has been out of the picture since they were little. One girl is anorexic and agoraphobic; the other is a huge liar. Other people lie in the course of the story and lots of people cheat. Another case of me not agreeing with the reviewers, this was a finalist for the National Book Award.
