review 1: I received this book through Goodreads First Reads giveaway, and I am very glad I did! Now I can't wait for the sequel...the book is based in India, so the cultural aspect added quite a bit to the story. (I cannot vouch for how authentic or not some of the background is on Delhi and Indian culture in general, or tantra more specifically, but it all seemed well-researched.) It was a very new twist on the "vampire hunter" protagonist, and I was kept intrigued throughout the book. I was definitely kept curious to learn more about the backstory, the world of the guardians, and the developing relationships between Anu and the others. So hopefully it won't take too long to get the next book in the series out!
review 2: I am a big fan of Eoin Colfer books. When i d... moreecided to read some Indian authors, i came across this book on a shelf. The cover page and the name made me pick it instantly. And when I turned to the back of the book, I was surprised to see that the protagonist shares my name ;) Plus, it seemed to be of the kind I would love to read. Adi has a good style of writing and seems to have researched a lot about Tantra. He has beautifully weaved the concept of tantra with vampires and guardians! If he plans to make a series, I will read every book for sure! less
