review 1: Mann of War has earned it's place on my "favorites of 2013" list. An intriguing story line and likeable characters make it quite an enjoyable read. Robert Mann is the strong yet sensitive type sick to death of seeing murderers, rapists and swindlers get off scot-free. This has nothing to do with my opinion of the book, but I did appreciate the extra time the author took to sign the book and write a quick note. I know authors have much more important things on their plate so it's not always possible, it's just a nice touch. **I have received a free copy of this book through a GoodReads First Reads giveaway.
review 2: Brantingham takes us on an adventure through the whole entire book. There is romance, action, adventure, and violence with blood. If anyone love
... mores any of those things they will enjoy this book. The most complaining part of this book is we see how Robert Mann thinks he is changing because he is committing all these murders, but truly i believe it was the person he always was, he is just barley realizing it. I thought Charlie, his love interest, was slightly annoying but that is because she is young and makes annoying decisions that we all make in our early twenties and i realized it was only to make her character more three dimensional.Over all i enjoyed this book and hope the author will be writing more of this series. less

The book is good. I just think the author could have been more visually descriptive.

Well-written mystery by this literary author of poetry and short fiction.
