review 1: 4+ StarsI don't read "light" reads. I just...don't. I always feel slightly disappointed after I finish them. But, this book came highly recommended by a friend whom I trust. She shares my same reading likes. She loves this book. Loves the author. And surprise, surprise. I liked it. I actually REALLY enjoyed it. It was a lighter read. But, I don't know, somehow it was deeper than that. I loved the characters. I REALLY enjoyed the dynamic of the family interactions. I want to hang out with them. I liked the author's writing style. She mixed it up writing in 1st person, 3rd person and even narrative POVs. I was intrigued by it. I loved her dialogue lines. They had impact. They often made me laugh. I've read a few reviews whining that the guy was an asshole. Get over it. Read ... morea harlequin romance if you want a book where they ride off into the sunset. My opinion? I love assholes. I love bitches. The back story and character building was good...so I got it. I kinda loved him for it. And, by kinda, I mean, I loved him. No apologies.
review 2: Wow!! This book was amazing! I love stories like this, the brother's best friend falls for the sister! They were there for each other, whenever the other needed them. I loved how he would sneak into her room and lay in bed with her! I love how her brother and dad knew all along that they belonged together. They were amazing together and of course the sad part was when he stupidly pushed her away thinking it was for her own good. It was a typical fight, but finally in the end they got back together! The epilogue was amazing, the proposal was absolutely adorable! I was completely teary eyed! Loved this book! less
