review 1: So hard to see this series unfinished. Somewhere along the way I have fallen in love with all of these characters. Not just Nana and Hachiko.(Spoilers slightly if you haven't read to end of #19)Anyway...Ren's death caught me off guard. I should have seen the signs. I think I was too wrapped up in all the goings on between the characters to see clearly that Ren was going to meet his end. I'm at least glad Nana has recovered somewhat to her old self in the final chapter. I don't think I would be able to stand it if things were left with her as she was in the immediate after-math of Ren's death. I wanted Hachi and Nobu to get together really badly. But I have a weird soft spot for Takumi, even though he is very flawed in so many ways.I love that all the characters in this ser... moreies are damaged in one way or another, but are portrayed so honestly that it's hard not to love them as they are. I cling to hope that Yazawa will recover and let us journey into Nana and Hachi's world once more…
review 2: SPOILER ALERT!To be totally honest, I have never cried because of manga, but today I did. I read today Nana vol 21, which is also currently the last one because manga author Ai Yazawa has not yet continued her Nana manga. I really do hope Ai Yazawa will continue her Nana manga series. Vol 21 left Nana´s story incomplete and Nana deserves ending. After reading all 21 manga´s, I have to say that Nana is well written. Characters are individual, interesting and plot keeps you going. You just can not stop reading. But so called "ending" for Nana (vol 21) was shocking, I did not really expect that but I was suspicious, because vol 20 I realized Nana (Hachi) had son, called Ren and there was huge picture of Ren on the wall (which gave me imagine it was there because of someones memory). Ren was not there, and people spoke only about Nana´s son. We lost biggest and honest love story there. I felth that Ren´s and Nana´s love was strongest in whole manga, so when we lost Ren I could only cry. I felt so sad. I had identified me into characters, so it was really hard to say goodbye to someone who I loved. Also the fact that Nana and Ren had fight and they never had chance to speak about it, which make it harder. So I can just say great manga, which is still unfinished and waiting Ai Yazawa´s returning. Please finish Nana. less
