review 1: This was an enjoyable fast ready. You easy fall in love with Zac and his positive and strong personality. But you just as easily can't stand how angsty and obnoxious Mia is right off the bat. I found a lot of her actions to be rushed, some understandable but others just didn't seem like something someone would actually do in real life in that situation. I did enjoy her character development towards the end though. It reminded me of The Fault in Our Stars, but with less mature characters. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it friends.
review 2: I loved Zac; he was believable, real and felt like a person I could actually talk to in real life. I personally enjoy the first part of the book the most where Zac narrates - although facing the fact he could... more potentially die (with his Googled statistics and all) he still manages to stay optimistic and keep his sense of humor. I wasn't as attached to Mia though. She had the best chances out of everyone - Zac said so himself - and yet she still curses her luck and her mom (at the beginning), even when all her mom is really doing is out of love. I get how Mia would be frustrated at getting cancer and having her leg amputated, especially with all that peer pressure and having to miss her formal (I'd be pretty pissed too if I had to miss my school dance), but sometimes I just wish she'd complain less. Overall, I quite liked this book, since it's not your typical teenage romance and all - and the ending really pulled the lever on the waterworks! less
