review 1: This book had SO much potential, but IMHO it just fell flat. The best thing about this book was Gom. I loved that little guy. But I never felt much for Dylan or Soldier. And it didn't make a whole lot of sense that they lived in a foster home that was semi-legit, but not. The kids were hiding away, like runaways, but they were "placed" there. The home was had a legitimate owner who must have been paying taxes, yet somehow Dylan was able to "legally" squat there with the kids? Soldier goes from being a loner probably with a dose of PTSD to suddenly functioning with everyone without issue?Too many things just didn't add up for me and it was a case of inst-love that I couldn't buy into.
review 2: I liked the story but felt that there was so much more potent
... moreial for full character and plot development that wasn't utilized. There was no angst at all, no depth to the story, just quick love at first sight and everything fell right into place, even with the foster children who had such complex problems that no one else wanted them. They too just fell right in love with the two MC's. Too sugary sweet. less
