review 1: For a cookbook, this was fantastic! The stories were entertaining, and they inspired me to believe in myself and reach beyond my comfort zone in the kitchen. I can't wait to try a ton of the recipes. I have a big jar of raw milk in my fridge that will (hopefully) become yogurt tomorrow. :) And then I'll try ricotta cheese, tomato sauce, toaster pastries, cheese crackers, the list goes on and on. I got this book from the library, but think I'm going to have to buy my own copy.
review 2: A pretty good collection of decent recipes. However, the book is padded with too much dopey narration of the touchy-feely variety. Everything has to have a little family story (and some of the stories are not even related to the recipes). I'll borrow the few recipes I don't
... more already have in some form and will look elsewhere to find others. I wish there were more of a practical philosophy behind this. less

The graham cracker and the granola recipes are a joy and a treasure.
