review 1: A Christmas cake of a read, knitters will especially enjoy the role knitting plays in the main character's development and also in a town coming to the rescue. Exuberant, a little fluffy, but great fun. A good read for fiber-arts related book clubs, begging the question of every knitting circle of what each can do to create yet more good in the world besides the evident good of the fun stuff we knit.
review 2: I was given this book as a Goodread Giveaway and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Sybil flees London after her twin steals her husband to be at the alter and then a mistake at work leads to Sybil thinking she is about to get fired. She runs to a small village: Tindledale, where her friend has just taken over a pub called the Duck & Puddle. She arrives mi... moreserable and lonely but soon realises that village life is friendly and fun. Her passion is knitting and she soon finds her way to Hettie’s House of Habidashery. The story that follows is heartwarming, at times funny and echoes the spirit of Christmas. A lovely read. less
