Weathercock by Glen Duncan
Another book recommendation given by a friend, thanks Liana!
I’d read ‘I, Lucifer’ by Duncan a while back so immediately said yes to this one after I saw who had written it.
I get that our pal Glen is into his demons and religion and weirdly described sex-scenes but sometimes it feels a bit much and sometimes it leaves me wanting more.
The sado-masochism that the main character Dominic dabbles in seemed to be building up to something throughout his story, so for me
*spoiler alert*
the kidnapping scene at the end made me feel awful because I wanted something a lot more terrible to happen to the victim. I guess I wanted Dominic to embrace his
sado-masochistic side and actually drop the Catholicism completely, but that’s just lil’ ol Atheist and kink-friendly me.
I’d recommend this one if you’re up for trudging through the slightly boring, meandering bits to get to the good stuff.
