review 1: A delightful look at the life and writings of Lewis that is written from an interesting perspective. As a huge fan of C.S. Lewis, I really appreciated the way McGrath places certain writings with the historical context in which Lewis composed them.To say this is simply a review of Lewis' work would be very misleading. ... morest a series of essays by McGrath on Lewis. This, in and of itself, is not a bad thing, as McGrath is a noted Lewis scholar and author of the most recent, and generally well-received, biography. McGrath writes in a very accessible way without cutting the corners of academic credibility. Even as someone who has read a considerable amount of Lewis' work and it generally familiar with his view on most of these topics, I found it quite enjoyable and an inspiration to read a few Lewis titles I have heretofore left sitting on the shelf or have not yet acquired. less

It was alright. Not as good as simply reading Lewis himself.
