review 1: This is the story of a woman who survives a plane crash and doesn't remember her life. It was an easy, pleasant read and I couldn't decide whether I wanted her marriage to work or if I wanted her to move on. The mystery of her father who abandoned her years ago really pulled me through. Was is alive? If so, why didn't he visit the daughter who almost died? I've discovered a new favorite women's fiction author!
review 2: The premise of this book is very interesting: Nell loses her memory in a horrendous airplane accident. I like how the book explores the identity of a person. It asks tough questions about who we are without our history and our memories. Sometimes, the main character, Nell, does too much introspection--especially in the beginning chapters, and I
... more felt like little action occurred. On the other hand, I like how Allison Winn Scotch weaves in the different perspectives of family members and how the stories they tell to the main character influence Nell's behavior and actions. less
