review 1: American Girl (Magazine). Best of AG and February 2014 Issues. American Girl Magazine offers a wide variety of topics to read about. There are many elements included in this fun and colorful literature. There are short stories, surveys, craft ideas, party ideas and advice in the form of short stories. The magazine also highlighted one girl who has gone through a difficult time and came through. The Best of American Girl was focused on crafts, posters, and featured two girls who had won a contest. The magazine is well rounded and offers many topics that young girls would be interested. The general message is one of empowerment and taking charge of elements of a young girls life. Ages 8 – 11.
review 2: I grew up reading this magazine and was subscribed for year
... mores when I was younger. The magazine taught me history, gave me stories to read, puzzles to solve, crafts to make, and more. I still have every issue I ever got, after all these years, and still flip through them for craft ideas. If I ever have a little girl, I hope AG Magazine is still around so she can grow up with it, too. It is such a great alternative for tweens to those teen mags! less

I would probably not include this in a library but young girls would find it an entertaining read.
