review 1: If you’ve never gotten over your fear of the dark, then don’t read this book. Casey deals with darkness, regularly. She lives it, remembers it, fights it and writes about it and wins, because, in her words: “I will accidentally spill nothing but the truth.” And, that’s the beauty of her work. She’s a no-holds-barred writer. You may not like what you see on paper, but you can’t deny the truth of her words, the depth of her emotions. What you read is Casey in a battle with herself; however, don’t let your guard down. There are slings and arrows aplenty to go around.I’ve always been impressed with Casey’s way with words; she uses them artfully to paint, to pain, to point, to gain. From Sleepwalk Into My Arms, “I’m not so good with lovers while awake. S... moreilence seems so far away. Save the noise for a wake.” Beautiful.
review 2: DARKNESS COMES 'A CALLIN'WONDERFUL POETRY . . . GRAPHIC, HUMOROUS, ANGRY . . .A WAY TO FIGHT BACK AT DEPRESSION BY WRITING POETRY AND TELLING THE "DEMON DOGS OF HELL" TO GO AWAY.I THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND MS. KISERS FEELINGS OF POETRY AND READ HER POETRY LAST NIGHT, DURING MY "EPISODE OF EMPTINESS . . . MY SOUL WAS GONE" AND IT HELPED ME TO REMEMBER OTHERS SUFFER THIS HORRENDOUS MONSTER EITHER TIME TO TIME, ALL THE TIME, OR RARELY, IF EVER. I AM NOT ALONE.Disclosure: I got this book for free from Goodreads First Reads giveaway. less

A decent little selection of poetry. As usual when I read I get done to quickly.
