review 1: Gracefully Grayson is the story of a boy who feels he isn’t right inside due to him feeling like he was really meant to be a girl. This causes him to be sheltered and quite in school due to the fear of what others will think because if these questions about his sexuality and gender. This book has more of a message and lesson to be learned, in the story Grayson’s teacher turns out to be helpful and comforting, it shows children that these types of situations are normal and that there are ways to deal with feelings that leave you worried or with questions. This story would be helpful because questions about your sexuality or gender can be very stressful and hard when held in. In todays society you shouldn’t need to be worried about these situations and this book tells ... moreyou that and also shows way to cope with and get the answers to these difficult life questions
review 2: An important topic written for a middle grade audience. I think kids who know nothing about gender identity issues might be pretty confused at first...the author was being very careful about the subject matter, almost to the point where I wondered if kids would understand what the issue was. Grayson is a sweet character that you root for though and the book has a good message about accepting yourself and being brave in a world that is not always kind. less
